Brief:
The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is interested in constructing a new facility for the Pasternack School of Engineering Technology, the second-largest engineering-related school on Long Island and a leader in hands-on, applied technical education.
Students will assess existing instructional and laboratory spaces, evaluate evolving program needs, and analyze multiple potential building sites on the Farmingdale State College campus. There is approximately 75,000 net square feet assigned to school
programs, and the gross area requirements range from 125,000 GSF to 150,000 GSF.
Requirements:
→ Engineering Technology Building:
The building shall provide instructional, research, and administrative space for 5 of the 7 departments in the Pasternack School of Engineering. The programs include Aviation Administration (BS), Aviation Pro Pilot (BS), Architectural Engineering Tech (BS), Civil Engineering Tech (BS), Construction Management (BS), Computer Engineering Tech (BS), Electrical Engineering Tech (BS), Facilities Management Tech (BS), Manufacturing Engineering Tech (BS), Mechanical Engineering Tech (BS); Civil Engineering (B.Eng), Electrical Engineering (B.Eng), Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng).; and Masters programs in Architecture and Construction Management

The exterior area adjacent to the main entry shall display a permanent exhibit to celebrate technologies of the engineering technology school near the main entrance.
→ Parking
Parking shall be available for 80 faculty (reserved), 15 visitors (reserved), and 150 student parking spaces (open).
